He has weathered various economic climates, from the high-interest rates in the early '80s, Black Monday in 1987, the recession in 1990, the dot.com bubble burst in 2000, September 11, 2001, the Housing crash of 2007, the Covid period of early 2020, to the unpredictable market shifts in recent years. He held various positions within REBA, including treasurer from 2012 to 2014, and was elected president of the 900-member organization in 2015-2016.
